Details, Details, Details.....

I know, I've been 'absent' from the Bloggiverse for almost a week. But I'm not sorry! I took a sort of self-imposed sabbatical from technology - blogging, emailing, even phone calls - for the duration of our trip down to the BarnHouse show. As a matter of fact, the only tech-ie thing I had around me at all was my camera. (As did everyone ELSE there! Too much to miss!)

I just wanted to live in the moment, enjoy the people and soak in the atmosphere & inspiration, without thinking to myself 'I'm SO blogging this!' and then hurrying to share it. Not that I don't plan to share things! Oh my YES, I will! But for this first day, when I am on 're-entry' after an early-morning arrival back here at Retreat Farm, I'm going to keep it really simple.

Our hosts, the Kings of DETAIL with a capital everything. Joe & Jermonne are kind, sweet, generous, patient, giving, caring, men with hearts of gold and laughter that is contagious. Their farm is a little bit of paradise and their home.... well, let's just say I melted when I walked into it. Perfection. These are two creative geniuses who inspire me like no other. I can't wait to see what is coming next for them, and let's just say they deserve all the good things that do come!
Our 'Taj Mahal' tent (also known as the 'Retreat Estate') that was our home away from home for four days. We had fun with it, and it made our long hard workdays in 95 degree heat bearable. I totally understand the concept of a mid-day 'Siesta' now, because there is nothing else you can do when it is that hot!!! Working early mornings and late nights was the norm.... sleep? Ah, who needs sleep?! The reactions we heard about our tent decor were SO very nice, and there are photos of it popping up all over blogdom, and we so appreciate that. Some comments & situations were a bit funny - a few made us laugh out loud! I put more photos about it up on our Retreat blog. And finally, our space inside the barn.... we were so honored to have had Joe & Jermonne decide to put us in the main location. I hope our results did justice to their vision for the show. I'll be sharing more photos of our one of a kind furnishings & decor items this week, on our Retreat blog. For now, I have things to catch up with, two articles to write, another show to book on our schedule, our store displays to design, and hundreds of photos to edit & emails to wade through! See you soon!

I'm amazed that people thought they could come in and be in your space...but then again not all that surprised. People are funny. Thanks for sharing. It looked amazing.
