So when the decorating finally got underway in earnest around here, I pulled everything together so I could see just what I had to work with. (Not enough in my opinion, darned those blasted elusive white ornaments, but I can work under pressure!) Once it's all in front of me, I can start playing with components and creating. (AKA: The FUN part!) There is actually a lot that I used that isn't in these photos... you'll see it in coming days' posts. And I may (or may not) add more in the next week. I'm just sayin'.
I had to start with the tree. Once it was done, then I'd know how much was left to decorate everywhere else. (See? There IS a method to my madness!)...oh, by the way, in case you've never seen my trees before, you really should prepare yourself. I am decidedly NOT normal when it comes to decorating my trees. I use anything within reach - especially when it comes to toppers. I like big scale, small scale, lots of texture, and touches that you won't find on other people's trees.
This is the current state of the tree, but don't think it will stay like this. I still have ten days left, and who knows what I might unearth here or in a thrift shop to add to it?!
That stand under the tree? It's a lovely pine box with a hidden raised deck inside, made especially to lift a short tree to a higher level. It's something dear hubby made for me for a former corporate client's job one year. When said client was literally throwing things out the door during an ill-considered and knee-jerk decision the following year, I grabbed it back. I love how it adds instant stature to this small & insignificant (yet cheap and pre-lit) tree. Next year, Deb wants a really good fake tree. ;0) And really good fake garlands. All in white. Guess I'll need to do some shopping this winter at the gift show, huh?

Loooks fabulous, Deb. And yes, you know where to go for a fabulous fake tree in January! :) Although my own designer tree {which I still thought was spendy wholesale} has prewired lights that stopped lighting.:( my husband is NOT impressed that he has to cut them all out and then relight the whole thing for next year. So sometimes really good isn't all that much better than really cheap. Merry Christmas Deb! xo
So whimsical! Almost like you grew up in awe of Disneyland or something the way you 'produce' your holiday magic:)

Wow...and I thought I did unusual tree toppers...I love the way you think outside the box. It makes a very unique and fun tree!

Love all the different *stuff* you've used and I'll be watching for any extras.
