gratitude journal . week 4
22 monday . sanctuary
both literal and proverbial
a place to find peace, calm, quiet, and reflection
23 tuesday . community
a neighborhood that joins in displaying National pride in every yard
I really missed my neighbors and community on Camano Island this week...
such a remarkable group of people that are connected with each other.
I am so glad that I was able to meet Dyan with the garden and the Wilburs down at Utsalady,
the Leinau family, Greg & Donna, JoAnn, Karen, Jonathan, and Lindsey & Kelly on Moe Road,
and especially the Smiths and their daughter Julie, and MaryBeth & Julie.

24 wednesday . picnics
I am so grateful for my mom and dad, including me in their plans and activities
and making me feel like anything but a third wheel ;0)
I am also thankful for the members of the Pacific Symphony,
I am also thankful for the members of the Pacific Symphony,
who provided the beautiful music on this special night.
Thank you for pursuing your musical talent and dreams -
it isn't easy to do that when many people don't see the value in the arts.
We need music in this world...
25 thursday . iscreamyouscream
I heard music wafting through the hot afternoon air twice before I realized what it was:
an ice cream truck!
As I began to pay closer attention,
I heard more than the tinny tune pumping through the speaker...
laughter, screams, and shouts of delight coming from kids all over the neighborhood.
I grabbed my camera and stepped to the office window just in time to snap this shot.

I didn't need to buy a Creamsicle or Missle Pop. Just the memory is enough...
26 friday . decadence
Some days, it's a piece of toast. Others, a bowl of Cheerios.
But every once in a while, a morning just calls for more than 'the usual'.
Sitting by the pool on a sunny warm morning, enoying a waffle topped with
bananas, pineapple, coconut, caramel sauce, maple syrup, and whipped cream...
yeah, that's decadent!
27 saturday . backyard parties
friends old and new gathering to catch up with each other
(I snapped this photo because the edging around the yard reminded me
of our backyard when I lived on Baylor Avenue in Anaheim)

28 sunday . blue skies
both literal and proverbial
May you find blessings in everything this week, my friends....

This is why I have a Gratitude Journal in images
(these are all my images, I just didn't think some of them needed a watermark)
