ready for spring

i am so ready for spring...

so today, i set aside some time to freshen up my little office space,
dig through some old files in a bin, and create new spring inspiration boards.
[the one pictured above is from many years ago.
i miss that door. i need to get another one.]

on friday i created all new spring graphic images for my web pages,
and i uploaded those last night.
in the process of selecting photos to use for those graphics,
i came across this one:

it's a shot of a mantel display i created one spring,
when i lived in 'the Cottage' in Washington
[i miss that place, too....]

as i looked at the photo, i saw the little wood spool that says 'Wards' on it
and without really even thinking, i said quietly,
"i wish i still had that."
it's not a family heirloom, even though it has my family name on it.
it's not really valuable - i think i paid a dollar for it at a show.
it also says 'irish linen thread' on it, and there's the green color.
it's just a sweet little thing that i used each spring in my decor,
and for reasons i don't fully understand, it reminds me of my grandma ward.
i missed it.

today, as i was going through a bin of folders and small paper bags,
that little wooden spool fell into my hand.
blip.
right there, outta' nowhere, was the item i had wished for
in an instantaneous thought two days before.

just as instantly, tears came to my eyes
and God's message came through loud and clear:

"I know this means something to you, so here you are ....
and if I can give you something so small and insignificant
when you hardly even think about it,
how can you worry that I won't give you
all that means the most to you,
that you pray for every day?

Trust Me."

moments of grace,
falling out of a little paper bag....

Love the idea of a spring inspiration board and using a door - great idea!

Even more, I love the story of the spool. I am not surprised at the ending. It seems that very often I hear about "little" miracles. And you are right. If there are little one, they think of the endless possibilities of big ones. People just don't stop to realize the miracle and just think of it as luck.
